Erasmus+ Funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union

Our school participates in an international project funded by Erasmus+. Students of the 5th and 6th forms are invited to join our Erasmus+ team. Together, we work on a specific topic with our five European partners. We visit our partner school, but we also work on tasks the pupils develop for each other.

Our current project on Sustainability – Preserving Europe for future generations started in 2019 and is going to continue until summer 2022. With our partner schools from Spain (Palma), Germany (Rensburg), Turkey (Ankara), Finland (Kokkola) and Hungary (Budapest) we work on the question of how we can preserve what we love about Europe’s nature and culture.

What has happened so far?

In February, we started out with an intense project week in Vienna that we organized for our partners. Over 60 international guests spent a week with us and discovered in how far “sustainability” has something to do with history and how important it is to preserve learnings from the past.

Unfortunately, due to the Covid19-break this spring, many things have changed, and we couldn’t go to Palma in May. This was quite a disappointment for the 12 wonderful students who would have travelled to Spain to get a hands-on experience on sustainable tourism (and its opposite) this year.

However, a new situation brings new chances with it: The project’s deadline was postponed, there are new adventures ahead! There are visits to Finland, Germany and Spain on the program for next school year!
